  • The MassMEDIC Town Hall is a virtual gathering  intended to keep our community up to date, share knowledge on current issues impacting healthcare and our industry; and provide a regular opportunity for networking and discussion. These 55-minute interactive discussions feature expert voices on a range of subjects including regulatory news, HR and remote working, innovation and our industry’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

  • Our Town Hall features Rep. Lori Trahan who serves as the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts's 3rd congressional district. MA-03 has one of the richest concentrations of medtech companies in the Commonwealth and likely the entire country. A great friend to our industry, Rep. Trahan just won a seat on the coveted House Energy and Commerce Committees, where she'll work on issues central to our industry.

    In addition, we'll hear from Joe Mullings, CEO, Mullings Group, one of the most recognizable faces in medtech. Mullings is a world class recruiter and a media entrepreneur, whose programs focused on medtech are seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers on LinkedIn every day.

MassMEDIC Virtual Town Hall - Breakthrough Device Designation

Virtual Town Hall: December 11, 2020

  • According to the FDA, The Breakthrough Devices Program is a voluntary program for certain medical devices and device-led combination products that provide for more effective treatment or diagnosis of life-threatening or irreversibly debilitating diseases or conditions. The goal of the Breakthrough Devices Program is to provide patients and health care providers with timely access to these medical devices by speeding up their development, assessment, and review, while preserving the statutory standards for premarket approval, 510(k) clearance, and De Novo marketing authorization, consistent with the Agency's mission to protect and promote public health.

    • Sarah Kalil, Co-Founder, President, and CEO, CoreMap. Sarah is a seasoned med-tech executive with over 25 years of successful product commercialization leadership roles and board level experience. Named one of the 20 “Medical Device Companies You Need To Know” in 2019 by Medical Design and Outsourcing, and a member of the MassMEDIC MedTech IGNITE 2019 Cohort, CoreMap is developing advanced diagnostic technology to enable electrophysiologists to make more informed therapeutic decisions and improve patient outcomes.
