Vice President of Neuroengineering

PathMaker Neurosystems is a clinical-stage neuromodulation company developing non-invasive systems based on our proprietary Coordinated Multi-site Neurostimulation™ technology. With offices in Boston (US) and Paris (France) and significant financial backing, PathMaker is moving forward a trans-Atlantic strategy to rapidly bring to market entirely novel, breakthrough approaches to non-invasively treating neuromotor disorders. More than 48 million patients in the US, Europe and China suffer disabilities due to stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders. At PathMaker, we are opening up a new era of non-invasive neurotherapy for patients suffering from chronic neuromotor conditions. 


We are currently seeking a resourceful and hands-on VP of Neuroengineering who thrives in a fast-paced work environment to become an integral member of our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will contribute both technical expertise and intellectual creativity towards the engineering and development of our product line. As a key member of the PathMaker team, this individual will have the opportunity to play a foundational role in developing our company’s capabilities.



M.S. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or related field with 5 -10 years industry experience in the medical device industry in the design and commercialization of neurological devices at leading medical device companies and/or neuromodulation startups.  Experience with neurological device development is a requirement.


Position requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of product development process and experience bringing neurological devices through design and manufacture to regulatory clearance and to market
  • Demonstrated ability to address complex problems and formulate creative solutions
  • Experience with design and development of trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) systems preferred
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art engineering techniques, including CAD, prototyping and productization
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for medical devices
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask as needed in fast-moving early stage environments, with track record of executing and delivering on mission-critical timelines
  • Experience supervising and maximizing the productivity of talented engineers and technical staff, as well as managing outsourced design and engineering work
  • Excellence in preparing and delivering engineering and technical documents
  • Track record of publications a plus
  • Ability to work in the US without Sponsorship
