MassMEDIC’s October Program to Focus on Human-Centered Design and R&D Trends
Mass. Medical Society Health and Wellness defined in broad terms encompasses physical, emotional, environmental and spiritual needs at both the individual and societal levels. Human-centered design, which seeks unique perspectives from across all sectors of health and wellness, humanizes medicine, adapts health to lifestyles, and creates models for health systems. This presentation will encourage companies to approach design from the user’s point of view, showing how user insights lead to innovation through examples and case histories. The second half of this seminar will examine a top priority for medtech companies: sustained and profitable innovation. Growth in emerging markets, changes in consumer demographics, technological advances, demand for more efficient healthcare, and stringent reimbursement policies are driving a transformation in R&D strategies for medical device companies.
