November Programs to Focus on the Operating Room of the Future and FDA

MassMEDIC will host two very different informational seminars in the month of November. On the 16th, from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts Medical Society in Waltham, our topic is The Operating Room of the Future – Improving Efficiency and Outcomes. Speakers will include: Dr. Warren Sandberg, head of the ORF program at CIMIT and Massachusetts General Hospital; Jeff Beaubien, Industrial and Organizational Psychologist, at Aptima, Inc.; and Tim Bosch, Chief Architect of Foliage Software. To register on-line for the November 16th program, please This year’s FDA Update program will be held on November 29, from 8:00 – 10:30 a.m., also at the Massachusetts Medical Society in Waltham. This year’s end-of-the-year regulatory wrap-up features Dr. Daniel Schultz, Director of FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, who will discuss implementation of the new device provisions contained in the MDUFMA reauthorization bill passed last month by Congress. Janet Trunzo, Executive Vice President for Technology & Regulatory Affairs, at AdvaMed will discuss the impact of MDUFMA reauthorization and the results of this month’s Global Harmonization Task Force meeting in Washington. The meeting agenda will also include a report on enforcement and compliance policies from Gail Costello and members of her staff from the FDA New England District Office.
