MassMEDIC’s Annual Conference to Feature MedTech Cluster Update, New Technological Innovations, Tedy Bruschi




On May 1, MassMEDIC’s 11th Annual Conference will host Michael Goodman, director of economic and public policy at the Donahue Institute at UMass. Goodman will report on his recent analysis of the device industry in Massachusetts, including updated information on medtech jobs, annual sales, exports and venture capital secured. The Donahue Institute review represents the third such analysis undertaken since 2001 on behalf of MassMEDIC.

Rachel Gravelin, managing director in Bank of America’s Healthcare Investment Banking Group, will discuss the state of the medtech public markets, with her views and analysis from Wall Street. Ms. Gravelin has followed the medtech sector for nearly 15 years with Advest, SG Cowen and Bank of America.

The Annual Conference will also feature remarks by Dr. Stephen Oesterle, Senior Vice President of Medtronic, who will offer his perspective on the outlook for innovation in the medical device sector. The agenda concludes with local football hero, Tedy Bruschi, who will discuss his experience as a stroke patient and professional football player in the meeting’s concluding keynote address.
