Ximedica’s parent company, Item Group, www.itemnpd.com,
was recognized today as the Collaborative Innovation Leader award winner
at the first Rhode Island Innovation Awards sponsored by the Rhode Island
Economic Development Corporation.
The award, presented by Rhode Island’s Governor Donald Carcieri,
recognizes the Rhode Island company which excels in undertaking partnerships
within and outside its business sector to create solutions where none
existed before. Item Group was selected as a result of its ability to
identify, promote and create innovative products as well as work with
other enterprises to bring innovative products to market. Within the past
year Item launched Ximedica, a wholly-owned subsidiary to specialize in
the design, development, and supply of innovative new medical devices.
Ximedica was launched from Item’s rapidly growing medical device
practice to focus on the specific needs of the industry, including complete
single source, concept to supply services.
