Cytyc Corp has made a $374M bid to acquire Vision Systems,
Ltd., an Australian company that makes instruments and reagents used to
detect cancer...NDO Surgical announced the recent publication
of a landmark study of its Plicator procedure in the September 2006 issue
of Gastroenterology. The study is the largest randomized, sham-controlled
trial for an endoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
The findings demonstrated that the Plicator significantly reduced GERD
symptoms, PPI medication use and esophageal acid exposure…Waltham,
Massachusetts-based NeuroMetrix, Inc. is the 2006 recipient
of Frost & Sullivan’s Neurological Monitoring Product of the
Year Award for its NC-stat System. Frost & Sullivan presents the award
each year to a company that has excelled at developing and launching a
new product that demonstrates significant innovation and customer satisfaction…Gyrus
ACMI recently announced the market release of the world’s
first distal image sensor flexible ureteroscope, the DUR-D. The DUR-D
ureteroscope has also been cleared for use as a flexible choledochoscope
for laparoscopic procedures.
