Tyco Healthcare has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Confluent Surgical through its U.S. Surgical division. The deal is valued at $245 million and both parties hope to finalize the transaction by August. Confluent Surgical’s CEO, Amar Sawhney, was recently recognized by the New England office of Ernst & Young as “Entrepreneur of the Year.”….Lawrence-based Radianse, Inc. recently closed a $6 million Series B round, led by National Healthcare Services, the investment arm of Southern California’s MemorialCare Health System. The round brings the company’s total capital to $15 million…SuturTek’s Fascia Suturing Device recently won a Silver 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA). The IDEA award, co-sponsored by BusinessWeek and the Industrial Designers Society of America is international competition that recognizes design innovation from around the world.
