enLabel Global Services Announces Survey Results of Compliance Labeling Practices

Earlier this year, MassMEDIC member enLabel Global Services surveyed MassMEDIC’s manufacturing community to identify current industry procedures for compliance labeling and best practices in achieving “zero defect” labeling. According the results of the survey:

* 57% of respondents use a paper-based approval process for labels

* Although 70% of respondents need to print foreign language labels, 35% do not have a system that supports foreign languages

* 57% have had five or fewer labeling or packaging-related issues within the past 12 months, with estimated cost of nearly $1,000 per labeling error

* The internal review and approval process causes delays in releasing new labels or revising old ones in 61% of respondents

* 65% have had their labeling system and process validated
