Accellent Inc. announced that it will be acquired by
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. for $1.27 billion. The company
will continue to maintain its Massachusetts headquarters and to
provide manufacturing and design services to medical device manufacturers…..NxStage
Medical Inc. has joined the ranks of publicly-traded
Massachusetts medical device companies with its October 27 IPO.
The company launched its offering with 5,500,000 shares of common
stock at a price of $10.00 per share…. Congratulations to
ONI Medical Systems, ranked by Inc. Magazine as the 64th “fastest
growing private company.” ONI Medical of
Wilmington has developed a dedicated purpose MRI system for use
in hospitals, imaging centers and orthopedic practices for imaging
of the extremities… Richard DeVaul, Ph.D., Chief Technology
Officer at MassMEDIC member AWare Technologies, Inc.,
has been named an at-large delegate to the White House Conference
on Aging, to be held in Washington, DC, December 11-14. Dr. DeVaul
will be one of a select number of technologists advising conference
participants on opportunities for leveraging technology to help
serve, care and manage the nation's aging population.
