Annual Meeting Draws SRO Crowd to Kennedy Library
Speakers Examine Critical Issues and Trends
Over 400 MassMEDIC members and friends attended the 9th Annual Conference held on May 3rd at the Kennedy Library in Boston. Mass. Senate President Robert Travaglini kicked off the program with a round-up of legislative action this year, including passage of the stem cell research bill. TIAX President John Collins spoke on the barriers to commercializing university-based research. After the meeting’s popular networking break Professor Sandy Pentland of MIT’s Media Lab reported on his research activities involving “healthewear.” Concluding the morning program, Dr. Jonathan Gertler of Adams Harkness provided his analysis of the current public and acquisition markets in the medical device sector. Next year, MassMEDIC will celebrate its tenth anniversary. The annual conference will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd and feature more top-line speakers from industry and academia. And by popular demand the program agenda will feature additional networking time! Photo highlights of Annual Meeting can be viewed below. |
