MassMEDIC is collaborating with the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, a Boston-based vocational and technical college, to develop a medical device manufacturing curriculum. Graduates of the proposed two-year program would be trained for a variety of manufacturing and operations positions at medical device companies. Administrators at the Institute are interested in identifying the industry’s current and anticipated skill needs. Earlier this year, a focus group meeting of MassMEDIC members helped Institute staff identify some major skill gap areas.
