This year’s Medical Device Design Excellence Awards will honor several MassMEDIC member companies, including: ClozeX Medical, Haemonetics, and Philips Medical Systems. The awards will be presented at a ceremony held June 14 during the Medical Device & Manufacturing East Conference in New York City… Congratulations to Omnisonics Medical Technologies for receiving the Frost & Sullivan 2005 Medical Thrombectomy Technology Innovation of the Year Award for the OmniWaveä Technology platform. The OmniWave platform is the first thrombectomy device to use acoustic energy to disperse occlusions in hemodialysis access grafts, arteries or veins…MassMEDIC’s president, Tom Sommer, recently was featured in two articles in the Boston Business Journal, discussing the complexity of the life sciences Job Creation Incentive Payment program, and commenting on the business development implications of Governor Romney’s 2005 economic growth plan…Confluent Surgical recently announced that it raised $23 million in Series D financing received FDA approval for its DuraSeal system…

For additional information please click here for more information on registration and logistical information…MassMEDIC was an active participant at this year’s massPLASTICS show, held on March 30-31 in Fitchburg. massPLASTICS 2005, which attracted over 5,000 attendees and nearly 500 exhibitors, is the nation’s largest regional plastics industry tradeshow. MassMEDIC members NYPRO and Mar-Lee Medical Plastics were among the exhibitors.
