Educating
the Industry: Medical Device Management Certificate Program
MassMEDIC is pleased to announce the launch of the Medical Device Management Certificate Program, co-sponsored by MassMEDIC and the Bioengineering Institute at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). This comprehensive, 11-week course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of all aspects of the medical device industry, including financing, product development, intellectual property, and regulatory affairs. This program is ideal for anyone interested in starting or advancing a career in the medical device industry. The inaugural class began on September 30 with 25 students who came from a variety of engineering, legal and financial backgrounds; some had no medtech experience, others had worked in the industry for their entire career. The differing perspectives brought by the students led to lively and informative discussions, guided by a rotating series of high-caliber industry practitioners who taught the course. The next iteration of the Certificate Program begins on February 3, 2005.
