Clinical Senior Project Manager
Job Overview:
Waters’
mission is to develop innovative products and solutions for clinical diagnostic
laboratory organizations based upon its core technologies: sample preparation, separation
sciences, mass spectrometry, and laboratory informatics.
Reporting
to the Research and Development Director of Clinical Business Operations, the Senior
Project Manager will effectively oversee and drive projects through the Product
Development Process. In particular, we are seeking a results-driven
individual with excellent leadership skills who has prior product development
experience in the Medical Device, in
vitro Diagnostics or Pharmaceutical industries. This is an ideal, unique opportunity for
candidates to help shape the strategic vision of the organization, as well as,
maintain tactical focus towards execution of key initiatives impacting the growth
of this business. This role does have managerial responsibilities associated
with 1-2 direct reports.
The
position requires up to 40 % domestic and international travel.
Primary
Responsibilities and Duties:
§
Manage the
Waters clinical product portfolio process to ensure projects are prioritized
according to the organization’s strategic goals and business value.
§
Effectively
build and lead diverse, cross-functional project teams through the Product
Development Process (PDP), providing clear direction on PDP requirements to
meet the expectations of stakeholders as well as delivering the agreed upon
business value.
§
Utilize
project management best practices to ensure adequate planning, controlling, and
risk management activities have been conducted for each project.
§ Facilitate the development and subsequent management of project budgets;
track actual versus plan across the organization’s portfolio and works with teams
to resolve issues as they arise.
§ Manage projects within the established
scope, schedule, and budget while meeting or surpassing Waters standards of
quality. Accountable for execution on project timelines.
§ Ability to
effectively manage relationships with third parties, strategic alliance
partners, and other external collaborators.
§ Apply foresight and insight to proactively
address project issues and risks. Ensure
risks have appropriate mitigation strategies in place to ensure that project
goals are achieved. Highlights business implications
of identified risks.
§ Responsible for all aspects of product development from Concept, to Product
Launch and completing with Project Closure.
§
Establish
and maintain a high performing team and serve as a project advocate within the
organization.
§ Act as an information conduit between the
project Core Teams and Senior Management.
Provide monthly updates to Senior Management which summarizes the organization’s
active
portfolio based on evaluating key project metrics.
§
Provide
input to the Clinical Business Operations Team on Product Development Process
improvements and project management best practices which result in more
effective execution towards reducing time-to-market.
Required Experience and Training:
§ Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering,
management, or directly related equivalent experience. Higher level of education preferred.
§ Demonstrated expertise in managing projects
through a Product Development Process in a regulated environment. Candidates with this experience particularly
in the Medical Device, in vitro
Diagnostics, or Pharmaceutical industries are strongly encouraged to apply.
§ Experience in Product lifecycle management
§ Depth of knowledge and discipline in the
application of project management best
practices.
§ Project Management Professional (PMP)
certification preferred
