Principal Engineer

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Principal Research Engineer for the Vascular Therapy R&D Group (Tyco Healthcare, Mansfield, MA location) has the primary responsibility to lead new product development efforts for the Vascular Compression – DVT Prophylaxis market. This position may also provide expertise to current product lines within the SCD System and related families. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to Core Team Leadership and/or Project Leadership, concept development, product design, product performance verification and validation, transfer to manufacturing, and support Design Control and DFSS requirements. Candidate must be able to lead a cross-functional team and demonstrate successful new product development efforts of medical devices.

Requirements

Education required/preferred: BS or MS Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Plastic, or related discipline)

Minimum Experience: 9 - 12 Years with BS, 7 - 11 Years with MS

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Knowledge of Disposable Medical Product Development, Design Control processes, and preferably also Plastic Part Design

Skills/Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Project Management and leadership for multi-functional project teams
