Midsouth Region Manager (sales engineer)

 

 

Tegra Medical is a high growth contract manufacturer to the medical device industry with 2 plants located near Boston and one near Memphis. Our team members exhibit a sense of urgency, enthusiasm, imagination and are driven to succeed in everything they do. Due to continued growth, we are expanding our sales team and are seeking a dynamic business development professional to join us. The right candidate will have a proven track record in generating sales and capturing new business selling manufacturing services to orthopaedic device manufacturers. Ideally, you will have a proven track record selling precision machining, laser processing and assembly services with existing relationships at the major players. You will be responsible for the growth, development and maintenance of new and existing customers.  Working from your home office, you will be the key link between our customers and our manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, you will rely upon your industry & technical knowledge to achieve profitable growth for the newly created Midsouth region and will play a critical role in helping us execute our ambitious growth objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Research customer needs and determine fit/application for our services in an effective manner.

·        Create account penetration strategies for all key customers and develop healthy long-term relationships at various levels and functional departments within the strategic customer base.

·        Follow up on sales leads and develop new leads in strategic accounts.

·        Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends, government regulations and technical developments that effect our target markets.

·        Establish and maintain industry contacts that generate sales opportunities.

·        Work with application engineers, customer care representatives and other staff to establish a communication path with customers to ensure good coordination.

·        Participate in sales forecasting and planning.

·        Research, develop and maintain short and longer range sales plans. Negotiate long term agreements where possible to secure business and drive efficiencies.

·        Maintain an up-to-date opportunity pipeline with tactical plans to support the growth plans targeted in the region.

·        Monitor, analyze, and communicate sales and market data, with effective use of the ERP and CRM software, to contribute to business and capacity planning.

·        Communicate openly, honestly and constructively with customers and internal constituents.

·        Gather and share competitive intelligence.

·        Manage expenses prudently and plan travel efficiently to provide optimal account coverage and sufficient time for prospective business development.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

10+ years of work experience and 3+ years of technical sales experience in medical device manufacturing or medical device contract manufacturing selling related services (will consider an engineering background with demonstrated sales aptitude, relevant experience and a passion for customer service). Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills a must. Demonstrated ability at problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing new business. Experience managing a large geographical territory and a willingness to travel as needed, often on a weekly basis. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to work different levels of the customers’ organization, from buyers and engineers to senior management is essential. Candidates must be creative and persistent with a high level of self-motivation.
