MicroCHIPS, Inc is seeking a project engineer to support the research efforts of the materials engineering group.   This candidate will help plan, design, and execute experiments to support a class III medical device platform.  The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast paced startup environment supporting R&D efforts in the medical device field. 

Responsibilities:

Support the R&D team in the development of new implantable devices:

·         Contribute to the mechanical design of the implantable and external monitoring devices

·         Plan, design, and execute experiments

·         Document data and assist in data analysis

·         Support device hermetic sealing and seal testing

·         Support device structural testing

·         Support aseptic process campaigns

Skills/Requirements:

·         Bachelor of Science in materials science, mechanical engineering, or physics.

·         Experience in experimental design and statistical analysis

·         Experience in mechanical design using Solidworks CAD software

·         Familiarity with clean room protocols.  Familiarity with aseptic processing a plus.

·         0-3 years industrial experience.  Experience in the medical device industry a plus.

·         Knowledge and experience in the following areas is desirable: MEMS design and fabrication, microanalytical techniques (SEM, AES, XPS),  Helium leak testing, mechanical structural testing, FEA, transport phenomena

·         Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a team-oriented work approach are essential.
