MicroCHIPS' devices under development are based on advances the company has made in the fields of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), implant technologies, drug formulation and chemical sensing.

 

We are seeking a junior biomedical engineer to help the Research & Development group develop novel biochemical sensors as part of an implantable diagnostic medical device. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in electrochemistry and is also very comfortable working in a laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  •  Participate in all aspects of sensor design, algorithm development, fabrication and testing including development of methods to deposit biological and polymeric materials on mm-scale electrodes
  • Operate and maintain automated sensor assembly and test equipment, implement hardware and software revisions 
  • Conduct tests to evaluate sensor performance; analyze and interpret data; develop and maintain database of test results

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, Master of Science a plus.
  • 1 to 5 years industrial experience in a research and development environment
  • Working knowledge of biosensors or in vitro diagnostics, and a strong background in chemistry preferable
  • Proficiency with engineering and statistical software packages (Labview, AutoCAD, Solidworks, COMSOL, Minitab)
  • Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a team-oriented work approach are essential.
