Giner, Inc. is a privately-held, 35-year old company developing proton exchange membrane fuel cells, electrolyzers, electrochemical sensors and capacitors. We are seeking a candidate for a Staff Scientist/Staff Engineer position. The candidate will contribute to government and/or privately funded research programs, develop and synthesize new nano-materials, and assemble and test bread-board prototype chemical and electrochemical sensors.

The candidate will have the opportunity to directly contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge research in materials development, thin and thick film electrochemical sensor technology, chemical sensor technology, microsensors and microsystems. Applications of this research include chemical and electrochemical sensors for medical, environmental, industrial, and homeland security applications.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or materials engineering, or (analytical) chemistry with >2 years practical, hands-on experience in developing and testing nano-materials, chemical and electrochemical sensors.

A candidate must:

· have experience developing or fabricating sensors, including but not limited to chemical and electrochemical sensors.

· have experience with laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis software.

· be a self starter and problem solver.

· have good hands-on and analytical skills.

· have good oral and written communication skills

Experience working with nano-materials synthesis is a significant advantage.
