Principle Research Engineer

The Principal Research Engineer for the Nursing Care Products R&D Group (COVIDIEN, Mansfield, MA location) has the primary responsibility to lead new product development efforts for the Incontinence Care products. This position will also provide expertise to current product lines in product design improvements and participate in value added task force projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to project leadership, concept development, product design, product performance verification and validation, transfer to manufacturing, Design Control, and DFSS requirements. Candidate must be able to lead cross-functional teams and demonstrate a successful track record developing devices for incontinence.

Education required/preferred: BS or MS Engineering (Biomedical, Textile, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
Minimum Experience: 9 - 12 Years with BS, 7 - 11 Years with MS
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Ideal candidate would have a background in developing disposable devices using woven, nonwoven fabrics to an electro-mechanical system. Up to date knowledge in incontinent devices will be a plus. Knowledge of Design Control processes, and working within a structured stage gate PDP process is desirable. Skills/Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Project Management and leadership for multi-functional project teams
