 ConforMIS, Inc. is a privately held medical device company based in Burlington, Massachusetts. It was founded in 2004 to provide dramatic advancements in patient care by utilizing imaging technology to create personalized, patient-specific implants and instrumentation.

 Job Summary: 

 The Sr. Research Engineer is responsible for the orthopedic research program that involves a blend of product performance testing with research into improvement to the product. This position is also responsible for writing research and technical papers.

 Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on joint reconstruction products
• Responsible for harmonizing and improving existing testing practices
• Established research projects with commercial and academic institutions to investigate performance criteria for joint reconstruction products
• Write research and technical papers on research results

 Qualifications: 

• MS in Mechanical Engineering or Biomechanical Engineering.
• Ph.D. preferred
• Masters or Ph.D. thesis must me in an orthopedic related subject
  • Joint replacement thesis is highly desirable
  • Must have academic or professional experience in the research and testing of orthopedic products.
    • Masters level requires 2 years in orthopedic internship related work
    • Ph.D. requires 4 years in orthopedic related lab work
    • Experience and effective working with surgeons and clinicians
    • Experience drafting biomechanical test protocols and test reports

• Knowledge in orthopedic materials
• Knowledge in accepted mechanical test methods for orthopedic devices
