Technical Application Specialist (Metro west Boston)

 

Our client is a world-wide leader in medical instrumentation for biotech and pharma drug discovery research.  Due to sales growth, they are seeking a Technical Application Specialist to provide training and ongoing support of their products.  This is an ideal opportunity for you if you are interested in moving out of the lab, and into a client interaction role.

 

Responsibilities

 

The ideal candidate is responsible for providing escalated technical application and product support to industry leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.  Key to this role is the ability to understand and educate end users on instrument specifications, operation and maintenance, perform data analysis in support of various applications, design and implement onsite customer correlation and statistically designed product evaluations and IQ/OQ’s, and to act as a resource to field support peers. 

 

Other responsibilities include:

 

  • consult on and respond to product application issues
  • provide applications support for product integration into small-scale development labs, pilot facilities, and GMP manufacturing facilities
  • conduct in-house customer training, facilitate product trending and communicate product issues with R&D and Manufacturing,
  • providing support for investigations and customer follow-up,
  • work closely with R&D to resolve technical performance issues as well as customer specific applications issues. 
  • work closely with new customers to streamline validation requirements 

 

Requirements

 

  • BS in Chemistry or life sciences
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a biotech or biopharma company working in a process development and/or GMP controlled manufacturing or research environment involving mammalian cell culture or bacterial fermentation
  • Experience in antibody assay development and characterization desirable.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to travel 20% with possibility of some international travel
