Description:

This position will supervise and be responsible for the following manufacturing operations:

Dicing Grinding and Polishing of optical components.

Photo lithography and metal coating/sputtering system operation.

Fiber pig tailing / AR coating operation.

Optical detector packaging operation.

The production supervisor ensures that the operations described above are operating smoothly, meeting weekly production goals and quality standards. This person will interface with various group leaders of other departments to whom they are a supplier.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee and direct production manufacturing operations to meet production targets and delivery commitments. Maintain efficient flows of materials throughout the manufacturing floor. Prioritize production schedules based on customer demand and strategic importance. Schedule overtime as required to meet customer commitments. Review daily reports of material movements, labor charges, and WIP status. Assure records are accurate and labor costs are charged to the correct work orders. Support quoting activities for custom products including process engineering, tooling design, estimating, and capacity resource planning. Review employee performance and provide frequent feedback. Summarize performance in annual focal reviews and establish goals consistent with company objectives. Plan/direct training programs to promote continuous improvement of work skills, product quality, and organizational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Requirements: Bachelor degree preferred
• 5-7 years related experience in optical manufacturing
• Working knowledge of optical dicing and cleaning operation.
• Strong knowledge of photo lithography, mask aligners and the operation of sputtering chambers.
• Strong knowledge of fiber pig tailing, AR coating.
• Strong knowledge of optical packaging including wire bonding, Hermetic sealing and testing, TEC testing
• Experience managing non-exempt employees in a manufacturing environment.
