Supervisor, Material Control

 

 

Summary

Oversee the material control activities, including the accuracy level of all inventory material and purchasing material as required.  Process all incoming and outgoing material.  In support of operations, perform various routine tasks such as maintaining physical inventory counts and provide reporting.  Coordinate all warehousing activities and interface with suppliers as required.  Support environmental, health and safety (EH&S) programs, as requested.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

·   Responsible for the management of material from receipt through release and ultimately distribution, including receiving, storage and coordinating necessary evaluation.  This shall include purchasing material and communicating with suppliers as required.

·   Receive and transact all material in and out of the inventory control system and assure proper labeling

·   Monitor age sensitive materials and assure that appropriate measures are taken for expired material

·   Load and unload, verify, store, move and record the movement of material within the Company, external contractors, clinical sites and Customers

·   Responsible for product distribution according to regulations and the generation of accurate records

·   Prepare bills of lading, invoices, requisitions and other documents, routing shipments, reviewing materials and verifying quantities and ensuring that that outgoing shipments are packaged meeting  specifications

·   Manage the return of product (RMA) process to ensure timely and accurate disposition.

·   Ensure good housekeeping at all times throughout the facility, including the maintenance tasks

·   Oversee environmental monitoring for storage locations and cold room

·   Coordinate preventive maintenance activities, including HVAC system, with contractors

·   Carry and respond to a mobile phone or pager for emergency situations

 

Qualifications

·   High School diploma or equivalent

·   At least 5 – 8 years of experience working in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment within a regulated industry, biotechnology/medical device preferred

·   Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (MS Dynamics GP preferred)

·   Proficient computer skills, specifically with MS Office applications

·   Thorough knowledge of inventory control practices

·   Shipping/receiving experience

·   DOT certification preferred

·   Strong communication skills; written, oral and listening

·   Well-organized and works well with others

·   Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet predetermined timelines

·   Ability to work overtime as requested

·   Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
