The fourth annual Plastics in Medical Devices, with its theme of Reaching Medical Device Goals with Plastics Technologies, engages each part of the supply chain, an imperative in today’s medical device market. The 2013 conference will include presenters from device OEMs, designers, regulatory experts, plastic product makers, university researchers, materials suppliers, healthcare institution officials and industry consultants. Companies serving the medical device sector are up against shorter lead times, stricter U.S. Food & Drug Administration requirements, and changing patent laws amid increasing demand for innovation and cost containment. This conference will present timely, relevant topics to help plastics industry players, device designers, contract manufacturers and others make savvy business decisions and connect the dots with leading thinkers who deliver solutions.

The climate for early-stage medtech investment shows no immediate signs of improving. As emerging medical device companies find it increasingly difficult to garner the interest of traditional investors, new financing sources are receiving attention as possible investment solutions. This seminar will examine the current state of medtech investment with a panel of financing and industry experts and short presentations by representatives of non-traditional funding sources. Rana K. Gupta, a medtech entrepreneur and lecturer at Boston University’s School of Management will be the featured luncheon speaker, bringing his years of fundraising and company development experience to our forum.
